How much notice do I have to give to the school if I wish to withdraw my child/children before Year 6?

A term’s notice is required (by the final teaching day of your child’s penultimate term at the school), in writing to the Headmaster. Failure to give the correct notice will incur a term’s fee in lieu of notice and the deposit will be deducted from the outstanding amount.

Are there any supplemental charges?

Where pupils are involved in a school trip involving additional costs such as museum visits, out of area transport etc, the cost for the activity will be outlined to parents in advance in order that a decision can be made by the parent whether or not they wish their child to participate. The costs of these trips will be accrued for the previous term plus any advance charges for items such as residential trips and added to the termly fee invoices.

Please be advised that where possible for residential trips we will ask for a non-returnable deposit to secure a place. The total cost of the trip, where possible will be divided over two terms. All residential trips are to be settled in advance.

Can my child bring their own lunch?

The school does not provide facilities for packed lunches and communal lunch is a key element of the school day. We provide a nutritional and healthy well balanced diet throughout the week cooked by our own in house chef and this includes options for specific dietary requirements including a vegetarian option. Weekly menus are displayed on our website within the parent area. Please note, we are a nut free school.

Does the school provide insurance policies?

Like all Independent schools, Gardener Schools Group Ltd has comprehensive operational insurance. Parents are asked to ensure that valuables such as musical instruments are included in their household policy. Parents wishing to take out additional personal accident insurance or school fees insurance are advised to make their own arrangements.

Is my child eligible for Early Years Grants?

Children aged 3 and 4 are eligible for the government’s Early Years Education Funding (EYEF). This is collected from the government by the school on behalf of parents and deducted from invoiced fees. We will provide parents with the ‘Free Entitlement Parental Agreement’ form for signature. This is then kept on file for our records and audit purposes.

Does the school accept childcare vouchers?

We are able to accept childcare vouchers for:

a)     Ordinary tuition fees until 31st March, 31st August or 31st December before the child celebrates his or her 5th birthday. After these dates you cannot pay for education with the vouchers.

b)     Any after school care or club provided outside normal school hours on the school site.
