The school is situated next to Ravenscourt Park which gives us the benefit of convenient sports facilities without the need for coach travel to and from distant playing fields. Here we take full advantage of the tennis and netball courts and of the extensive open space for a variety of games activities.
In September 2011, the school will be unveiling its new extension and playground area. This will significantly increase the space available to all our pupils in all our buildings and provide an outstanding level of facilities. RPPS already has a gymnasium, library, music practice rooms and ICT room housed in our current upper school building. The art room, science room, the lower school library and SEN room are in the lower school. The school also has a separate dining hall.
However, the new extension will comprise of a state of the art performance theatre, science laboratory, library, music department, art department, nine large classrooms, small group teaching rooms and reception area. If you would like more information about this please see the section “Our New Building” on this website.
The main Victorian building, originally built as a vicarage, houses the lower school. A newer building, upper school building was completed in 1996. The dining block was completed in 2005. Hot school lunches (with a vegetarian choice) are prepared on site by our in-house caterer. Except for pupils excused on medical grounds, school meals are compulsory.
There is a playground at the front of the school where qualified teachers are on duty during break and lunchtime. The whole site is contained within a high boundary wall and, during the school day, the pedestrian gate is kept locked electronically with video phone entry to allow vetting of visitors, thus providing maximum security.
