Crucial to bringing our aims and ethos to life are the relationships that exist within our school community between staff, parents and pupils.  Our open-door policy ensures that staff are readily available to discuss individual matters; both academic and pastoral, and offer support, advice and information whenever necessary.

The strong bond between a child and their class teacher ensures this is the primary channel of communication between home and school. This is further complemented by our subject specialists, Headmaster and Senior Leadership Team who are always available by appointment. Our elected Parent Governor and team of Parent Class Reps provide an additional forum for communication and information sharing.

The involvement of our parent community in school life is a vibrant element of success at RPPS and is actively encouraged. Children both benefit from and enjoy involving their parents in the day-to-day life of the school. Parent readers, club leaders and helpers all contribute to developing a strong home-school rapport.

Formal communication of pupil performance is also recognised as an important component in our home-school relationship. Individual teacher-parent meetings take place each term and a detailed, personalised written report is compiled at the end of each academic year. In addition to this, the Parent Portal tool on our website facilitates instant communication with parents on a weekly basis. ‘Parklife’, our half-termly school magazine and ‘onthefridgedoor’, our weekly newsletter, keep parents up to date with relevant information, as well as offering a snapshot of current events and developments in the school.
